A cold, drenched monkey seeks shelter under a tree, where a sparrow in her nest advises him to build his own home. Angered by her persistent lectures, the monkey destroys her nest, teaching the lesson that unsolicited advice can be harmful to the giver.

Sparrow and Monkey

Hello friends, today I’ll tell you a story about a sparrow.

On a tree, a little sparrow lived very happily in her nest. One night, it started to rain heavily. At that very moment, a monkey arrived, completely drenched. He came and stood under the tree, looking for shelter. The sparrow leaned down and saw that the monkey was badly soaked and shivering from the cold. So, the sparrow said to him, “Hey, brother monkey, you have such good hands and feet, just like humans. Why don’t you build a house for yourself and live in it?”

“Why do you keep looking for shelter here and there?” Just then, the shivering monkey got angry and said, “You are living in your nest, aren’t you? You just sit quietly in your nest and don’t lecture me.” Saying this, the monkey curled up and stood there again. After a few moments, the sparrow again leaned down and said to the monkey, “Look how nice my nest is. It protects me from the cold, the rain, and the heat. I am such a small bird, yet I can build my own shelter. Why can’t you?”

This time, the monkey got extremely angry. He thought, “I’m dying of cold here, and she’s giving me advice.” So, in a fit of rage, he climbed the tree, broke the sparrow’s nest, and threw her out of it. Because of the nest breaking, the sparrow also got hurt.

The moral of this story is that we should only give advice to wise and deserving people. If we give advice to someone who doesn’t want to take it, it will only cause us harm.
