A starving lion waits inside a cave for its owner, a fox, to return. The clever fox notices the lion’s footprints and tricks the lion into revealing its presence by asking the silent cave for permission to enter, allowing the fox to escape.

The Lion and The Fox

Hello friends, today I’ll tell you a story about a lion and a fox.

A long time ago, a very hungry lion lived in a forest. He spent the entire day searching for an animal to eat, but despite all his searching, he couldn’t find one and began to suffer from hunger. A little further on, he saw a very large cave. The lion thought, “Surely there is an animal inside this cave. I’ll eat it.” And he entered the cave.

When he went inside, he saw that there was no animal there. He thought, “This cave must belong to some animal. It will return by evening. Why should I tire myself out even more by looking for it? It’s better to wait here.” So he sat down in the cave.

A little while later, a fox returned to his cave. Just as he was about to enter, he saw the lion’s paw prints on the ground near the cave entrance. He realized a lion had come to the cave. He thought, “If I go inside to check, and the lion is still there, he will eat me.”

How could he figure out if the lion was inside or not? The fox came up with a clever plan. He shouted loudly towards the cave, “Oh, cave, may I come inside?” The lion heard this voice from inside but didn’t reply and sat quietly. The fox asked the cave again, “Cave, have you forgotten? We agreed that I would ask for your permission every day, and only then would I enter. Today, I am asking for your permission, and you are not answering. May I come inside?”

The lion thought, “Perhaps this cave talks to the fox every day to let him in. But because I’m sitting inside today, the cave isn’t answering him. I should answer instead.” So, from inside, the lion roared loudly, “You may come in. You are safe here.”

As soon as the fox heard the roar, he knew the lion was still inside. He immediately ran away and saved his life.

The moral of this story is that if we use our sharp minds, we can overcome our difficulties. I hope you liked this story. We’ll meet again with another story. Namaste.
