A magician granted an ice tree four wishes after it sheltered him from rain. After unsuccessfully wishing for green, golden, and glass leaves, which were eaten, stolen, or broken respectively, the tree ultimately found happiness and contentment with its original needle-like leaves. This story highlights the importance of being satisfied with what one already possesses.
Snow tree
“Hello friends, today I will tell you a story about a magician and an ice tree.
One day, as the magician was returning home, it started raining heavily. The magician looked for a place to take shelter. He couldn’t see anything far and wide except for an ice tree. So the magician took shelter under the ice tree.
When the rain stopped, before going home, he said to the ice tree, “You protected me from the rain, so I will fulfill any four of your wishes”.
So the ice tree said, “Look, I have needle-like leaves on my body. Because of this, no bird comes and builds a nest on me. Therefore, like other trees, grow green leaves on my body”.
The magician fulfilled this wish. When green leaves appeared on its body, it saw many sheep and goats came and ate all the leaves on its body. The tree felt very bad. When the magician came, the tree said, “Now put golden leaves on my body, which sheep and goats cannot eat”.
The magician fulfilled this wish too. A man who was passing by that way saw many golden leaves on that tree. So he broke all the leaves and filled them in his bag and left from there.
Again, the tree felt very bad. When the magician came for the third time, it said, “Sheep and goats eat green leaves, and if there are golden leaves, people don’t leave them”. “Therefore, do one thing, put glass leaves on my body”.
Glass leaves were put on, which neither sheep ate nor anyone stole. The tree was very happy. That night, there was a strong wind and storm. Because of this, all these leaves crashed into each other and shattered.
Again, the tree felt very bad. It saw that all the leaves were broken and scattered. When the magician came, the tree said to the magician, “The green leaves were eaten by sheep. The golden leaves were stolen by people , and the glass leaves were broken by the storms. Therefore, I want you to put the same needle-like leaves back on my body. I will be happy with those”.
So the magician fulfilled this wish too and grew the same needle-like leaves on its body again. The tree felt very happy with these leaves.
This story teaches that we should be content with what we have instead of hoping for something else. I hope you liked this story. We will meet again with the next story. Thank you.”
