A man sentenced to death is told he will receive a lethal injection that will allow him to die peacefully. Instead, he is given a harmless vitamin shot, but his mind’s belief in the poison’s effect leads to his death, proving the immense power of the human mind.

The Power of the Mind

Hello friends, today I’ll tell you a story about the power of the mind.

Once, a criminal was sentenced to death and was in prison. A psychologist came to the prison and spoke to the officer in charge. She told him that she was conducting a study and needed his help. The officer asked how he could assist her, and the psychologist said she needed a criminal who had been sentenced to death. The officer brought her to the criminal.

The psychologist spoke to the criminal, “Your death is certain. You will be hanged. If you are hanged, your neck will break and you will suffer immense pain. You will die, but with great agony. What if I told you I could give you a medicine that will cause you no pain and will let you die in a peaceful sleep?”

The criminal thought about it and said, “Yes, my death is inevitable, but if I can have a peaceful death, it would be better for me.” He agreed to the psychologist’s offer, telling her, “I would rather die from your medicine than by being hanged.”

The next day, the psychologist brought a needle filled with a liquid and told him that once the liquid entered his body, he would fall into a deep sleep. In this sleep, he would have beautiful dreams, and he would die peacefully in that dream. She then injected the criminal with the needle. After receiving the injection, the criminal fell into a deep sleep.

In his dream, he saw himself in a beautiful natural place surrounded by greenery. He could hear the chirping of birds and see rivers, mountains, and beautiful clouds. A celestial chariot appeared from the clouds, with gods and goddesses sitting in it. They came to him and said, “It is time for your death. We have come to take you.” The criminal happily went with them.

As the criminal left with them in the dream, his soul began to leave his body. Within a short time, the criminal died. The psychologist saw that the criminal had passed away and told the officer, “I did not give this criminal any poison. It was just a vitamin injection. But I made him believe in his mind that it would kill him.”

This story teaches us that our mind has immense power. In Sanskrit, it is said, “Yadbhav Tadbhavati,” which means, “What you think in your mind becomes reality.” Therefore, always think positive thoughts so that positive things will happen to you.
